In middle of the diamond shaped island, hugged by the mountains and tucked away from the bustling, metropolitan capital, lies a sweet named town called Kandy. The centre of several ancient kingdoms and wars this was the capital of Ceylon during colonial times and is now carried the title of culture capital as it’s heritage has been stubbornly preserved. Much has been said of Kandy, its beauties, holiness and kingdoms, therefore I will refrain from writing tons about its history, and instead show you the sides of Kandy people often dismiss when visiting.
