During the short time that I was allotted in Laos, I realised one interesting thing. Due to poverty, Laotians still primarily live in villages. Industrialisation never happened here, so people don’t run from the countryside to the cities. Young people live closely with old people, and therefore social stratification is also low, and when it comes to voting, they vote together. Unlike, for example, from people in richer countries.
