Nara is the 1300 year old ancient capital city of Japan’s Kansai region. Usually overshadowed by its more famous neighbour Kyoto, Nara is on every tourist’s itinerary. It is home to a host of important scenic and historical sites, and has managed to preserve the sites in Nara Park much more attractively than those found in Kyoto.
