If you ask me if Chiang Mai should be visited, I would say “yes”, but if you ask what places should be visited in Chiang Mai, I would have hesitated to answer. Chiang Mai does not seem to have a superb sites for visit, but it is rather the landmark itself. It is decently clean (not quite like Singapore), green, well maintained, with lots of nice cafes, ancient temples, night markets with delicious food, clothes markets and all that is surrounded by hills. Behind there are lakes, waterfalls and hot springs. Chiang Mai is a comfortable place to make it a rest base for short-term outings. Which is what I did, staying here for three months.
