According to legend, when Princess Olga was standing on the shore of the Great River, she had a vision where three beams of light from the sky, came together on the opposite bank. At this place the princess has ordered to build a cathedral in honour of the Holy Trinity and the city around it. According to this legend, the Holy Trinity Cathedral in Pskov is the first Christian church in Russia.

Residential building “Pogankiny Palaty” used to belong to a rich merchant.

“Whoever will come to us with a sword, from a sword will perish”. It has become a slogan of Russian patriots.
