After Thailand our travel took us to all the way to China. The journey through north of Laos did not have to be difficult with occasional stops along the way for rest. The first stop — Vientiane.
Luang Prabang
On the way to the border in the north of Laos, among the mountains and dense jungle lies this pretty little town of Luang Prabang. Today it is a UNESCO site and a regular tourist destination, with overpriced goods, coffee and souvenir shops. The only thing worth respecting the local management for is for successful attempts to prevent locals begging. This has reduced total poverty and directed people to do something useful. What I would like to wish for India too.
