Nice was founded by the Greeks in the 4th century, later looted and burned the Syrians in the 8th century. Matisse is buried here. Sadly exhibition of his works was closed.
Nice is pretty beautiful form the above. Reminds me of Venice.

During the October Revolution loads of Russian oligarchs migrated to Nice and by the WWII most of them immigrated to the United States. During their stay they have built the most beautiful Cathedral outside Russia – Nicholas Cathedral. Unfortunately at the moment the facade is being restored so here is a picture of the gates.

Russian dolls is a pretty cliche method to introduce anything Russian.
