The large part of the local population is largely consists of ethnic minorities, almost all of them are engaged in agriculture. The vast majority of women wear traditional clothes, in other words, the local tribal culture is well preserved. Add to this the thousands of years old rice terraces, flowing thousands of meters down the mountain slopes over the vast area, and you get one of the most vibrant sights of Southwestern China.
